Seas the Day
Seas the Day is a fictional food truck created with sustainability and plastic pollution in mind. I created this project thinking about the awful state of our oceans and marine life, wanting to create a project to raise awareness in some way. The guiding idea behind this food truck was that they’d serve plastic free cutlery and takeout containers and donate 10% of all profit to The Ocean Cleanup, limiting their plastic waste and helping to get rid of the waste already in place.
The design of this food truck definitely has a whimsical feel. I wanted to feature illustrations of cute critters to open up the dialogue to all ages, and make customers feel like doing their part isn’t as hard or scary as they may have thought. I also really wanted to try to create my first monoline logo, which was definitely a challenge. I think that the monoline elements and stamped and worn feel really drives this brand. This project won best menu in West Chester Graphic & Interactive Design’s Food Truck Contest.
