36 Days of Type 2022

36 Days of Type is a yearly creative challenge that pushes artists to design their take on numbers and letterforms every day for 36 days in a row. Starting with letter A and ending with numbers 1-9 and the ampersand, I dove into this exploration with goals to further my hand lettering skills and explore my personal illustration style. I started with choosing a handful of my favorite fonts from my all-time favorite type foundries, and began to sketch over them in procreate, balancing vibrant colors with expressive pattern and texture play.

One of my personal goals as a creative is to take every opportunity I can to learn and better my skills, and through this exploration I have felt my hand lettering skills grow greatly. I hope to take on this challenge again in 2023 and hand letter everything completely.
